Dear Friends, This post originally included a quote attributed to Elder Boyd K. Packer which is incorrect. I thank alert reader Andrew for sending his track-back, and to others who have left various messages I have chosen not to approve.

A very special kudos goes out to J for giving all of us the definitive link of confirmation!!

I have removed the quotation. I encourage all of you to alert any others who may be sharing it. Please accept my sincere apology.

His power and influence in the world will be greatly missed. The world was better because of him, and is now a little worse without him. At least his death has aroused some attention on his wonderful life. Nice blog here.

You are so right, Michael.

It has been said that Gordon B. Hinckley did more for the church than any other man except Joseph Smith. His legacy will be far reaching throughout all time. What a miracle and blessing it has been to live under his leadership!
