I have learned in a very personal way that God is real. He loves us. He listens. The best way to know this, is simply to put His amazing “free wireless service” to the test any time of the day or night. Amazingly, the more we use it, the clearer our reception gets. Continue reading

A Bright Light To The World

There are many names and titles for Jesus Christ. One of them is “The Light“. He is referred to multiple times in the scriptures as “The Light of the world“,  “The Light of Men” and “The True Light“. In addition to Jesus being the light, those who choose to follow him are promised to receive a portion of … Continue reading

Using Our Teeth

I recently came across a short biography of Elder John B. Dickson of the Latter-Day Saint Seventy. I found his life story very inspirational, and his words of wisdom are applicable to our own daily living: “When it was time for me to go on a mission, I was very excited to serve the Lord. … Continue reading

Praying To Share The Joy

I received an invite on my Facebook this afternoon to join a “Global Prayer Rally Event” which a faithful Latter-day Saint has created. I think it is very admirable, and a great reminder for us all to follow the request of a prophet of God! Here is the description which accompanied the Global Event invitation: … Continue reading

A New Year of Hope and Gratitude

Don’t change that dial…yes, this is still MormonSoprano! However, in honor of the upcoming New Year celebration, I made a few little festive changes. I also activated my “falling snow” feature, as it makes a nice double for confetti, don’t you think? It is hard to believe that we are already ushering 2008 out the … Continue reading

Be Still And Know

Miracles Happen

Wonderful news! Our prayers of faith have been answered! I was absolutely thrilled to read Sam Shaw’s update on little Eloise. She is well. She is laughing. Her doctors cannot explain the change that took place which enabled her to forgo the scheduled surgical procedure. Eloise becomes another living witness that miracles do happen. I rejoice with Sam and … Continue reading

Pray for Eloise

I was touched by Sam Shaw’s post today regarding his sweet granddaughter Eloise. Little Eloise has a serious heart condition. She must undergo a critical surgery this week. I don’t know Sam. I have never met his family. And Sam does not know any of us. However, he has faith in our prayers.

My Song In The Night

My Song In The Night

Dr. Mack Wilberg has written a new arrangement of the American Folk Hymn entitled “My Song in the Night” which is hauntingly beautiful. I have tried to do some research online regarding its origin and history, and came up a bit empty-handed. However, the text to this hymn is particularly haunting. The words invoke an attitude of … Continue reading

They’re beautiful words of love”- Hymn 271 Once again I am filled with gratitude for a loving Father in Heaven who knows our individual needs and answers our prayers. Tonight, I received an answer to my many recent … Continue reading

A Little Change

Isn’t life interesting? We build a comfortable “personal space” around ourselves. It is almost like our own mini world-within-a-world that we carry as an invisible shell. This protective shell is the sum of all our experiences, knowledge, hopes and fears. It shapes how we see the world. It defines ‘life as we know it’, and … Continue reading
