In the fall of 2007 a creative project began that would become a life-changing experience for everyone involved. The Lord said, “out of small and simple things, great things shall come to pass”. The Reflections of Christ project has become such. Like a polished stone dropped into a calm sea, the ripples continue to reach … Continue reading »

As the Bridegroom to His Chosen
It has been quite a long while since I have posted. Over my life as a regular “journaler” I have found it is often the case that when I have been particularly busy, I find it difficult to find time to “write it all down”. Sadly this usually coincides with the most profound or important … Continue reading »
Mom Power
My mother underwent surgery for breast cancer last week. She chose to have a lumpectomy, and the pathologist report has declared her margins clear of cancer cells! That is the great news. She has been blessed with a very rapid recovery, and was back to work just a few short days later. Of course, that is … Continue reading »
No Empty Chairs
We have been experiencing a little taste of spring weather lately in Northern Utah. The other day it was unresistable, and I had to get out and enjoy it while it lasted! I believe I made my dog the happiest
A Child of God
I am a Child of God, and He has Sent me Here, Has given me an earthly home, with parents Kind and Dear” – Hymn 301 One of the most important core beliefs of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that each human being is a child of God. We … Continue reading »
How do we know?
“I know my Father lives, and loves me too. The Spirit whispers this to me, and tells me it is true” – Hymn 302 I have recently been having an interesting conversation
For Time and Eternity
This past weekend I attended a “Bridal Shower” for a good friend and co-worker. In my community, it is a custom for the women friends of a bride to
Heavenly Music
I have come across a lovely little book this week. It traces the history and importance of music in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It details the humble beginnings of the first hymns collected by Emma Smith (published in 1835), then onward through the generations of LDS composers, and forward to the … Continue reading »
Choosing Hard Things
“Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee.” Hymn 110 This weekend while I was working on a church assignment, I found a scrap of paper tucked into my Bible. It was slightly torn, but I could tell at one time it had been a program from a Sunday service. I recalled … Continue reading »
The Journey
Does the Journey Seem Long? Hymn 127 I stumbled onto a little quote today that really struck me.

“Beautiful words of love – Coming from God above, How sweet, how dear the words we hear! They’re beautiful words of love”- Hymn 271 Once again I am filled with gratitude for a loving Father in Heaven who knows our individual needs and answers our prayers. Tonight, I received an answer to my many recent … Continue reading »
Angels We Have Heard On High
“What the gladsome tidings be, which inspire your heavenly song?” Music has been referred to as the ‘language of angels’. This is such a beautiful and poetic thought; “Sing, O heavens; and be joyful …” (Isaiah 49:13). I believe we can also take this sentiment literally. The Holy Scriptures confirms the presence of heavenly choirs.
A Little Change
Isn’t life interesting? We build a comfortable “personal space” around ourselves. It is almost like our own mini world-within-a-world that we carry as an invisible shell. This protective shell is the sum of all our experiences, knowledge, hopes and fears. It shapes how we see the world. It defines ‘life as we know it’, and … Continue reading »
Sunshine in my Soul
Since officially publishing my blog last week, I have heard from some of the most amazing people “out there”! My Stat tracker tells me that over a thousand of you have visited me from 28 states, and 12 countries so far. Who are all of you?! It’s nice to “virtually” meet you! I am touched that you … Continue reading »
