Today’s Thanksgiving countdown classic is a beautiful song of gratitude. “Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep” was written by Irving Berlin (1888-1989) for the 1954 iconic film “White Christmas”. It was originally recorded by Bing Crosby, encouraging us to counter our worries with counting our blessings. I absolutely fell in love this new recording by Sandi Patty from her “Christmas Blessings” CD (2014). I decided to make my own ‘fan video’. If you enjoy it, please feel free to “like” and “share” it with others.
As one of the most highly acclaimed performers of our time with five Grammy® awards, four Billboard Music Awards, three platinum records, five gold records, and eleven million units sold, Sandi Patty is simply known as The Voice. Sandi is the most awarded female vocalist in contemporary Christian music history, with 40 Dove Awards. She was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2004 and as an Indiana Living Legend in 2007. She has released over 30 albums, but her accomplishments don’t stop as a musician! She is also a respected book author, lecturer and entrepreneur.
But her most important accomplishment?
Well, in my book, Sandi Patty earns instant superstar status being a mother to eight children. Yes, eight! Sandi and her husband Don reside in Oklahoma City with their family.
Her down-to-earth style and sturdy common sense have endeared her to the Christian Women of Faith® audiences which she has traveled with since 2005. Patti’s faith and endurance is a hallmark of her character. She is an example of letting God use her gifts in any circumstance.
“I am grateful for the many opportunities God has given in my life, and for how He has allowed me to spread my wings. Singing is my way to tell my story of hope, life, and love.”
