It snowed yesterday. Fresh white flakes blanketing the ground, decorating the trees and burying the dead leaves on the ground. It was the first snow of the year here after an unusually long and warm Fall. The timing seemed like a sign of all of the changes that are suddenly happening for us as we pack and prepare to move – finally – into our new home [just 14 more days!].
Little joyful gifts from heaven can arrive in such surprising ways. Today’s little joy arrived in the form of a beautiful video creation by the Marks and Spencer Store as part of their 2016 Christmas Campaign. The message here brought a smile, a tear and one of those “verklempt lumps” in my throat. It made my heart feel so happy. And these days, there’s nothing better than just feeling happy. All I can say is, Thank You, Thank You to M&S for this beautiful early Christmas gift, and a reminder that despite all of the stress in this world, and all of the bad, people are good, and life is good.
[And wow, these folks really must have some kind of advertising budget!]

I love this video. When I was a little girl, about 10 or so, I wanted to be a Santa’s elf when I grew up. Of course, now that I’m old and gray, I understand that I was a Santa’s elf all the years I had children at home, I just never realized it. I loved watching their faces when they came down the stairs and saw all the presents. Good memories. This video brought tears to my eyes, but in a good way. Thanks Holly.
