Finding Peace

These are the days that were predicted by ancient and modern prophets.

And all things shall be in commotion; and surely, men’s hearts shall fail them; for fear shall come upon all people. – D&C 88:91

It seems like the world is in such a great commotion these days that it is hard to know where to turn for truth, and peace has fled the earth.

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. – 2 Timothy 3: 2-4

The ancient prophet Isaiah lamented, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isa. 53:6.)

In modern parlance, they “did their own thing,” whatever the adverse effect upon others.

Even many of those who profess to understand free agency, or moral agency, turn liberty to license, as we can see all around us. –

And yet, despite the contention and strife in our world, our nation and our communities, we do not need to fear. There is hope, there is solace and there is peace awaiting us as we turn our eyes to the great Love and Light of the World.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. – John 14:27

Dear friends, may you feel His Peace today, and every day. – MoSop

  1. I love this blog. I love the scriptures you’ve cited, especially John 14:27, which is one of my favorites. The video is so beautiful. The scenery is amazing and just brings peace to my soul. That’s one of the things I really like about the Choir’s videos. They always have such beautiful scenery. Of course, there was a long and lovely shot of a certain Mormon Soprano, which I enjoyed seeing. Usually, there’s just a quick glimpse. All in all, I really enjoyed this blog, and I feel very peaceful now.

    Love you, Lynne
